Alocasia Cucullata Mint: Rare Mint Variegated Houseplant
The Alocasia Cucullata Mint is a mint-variegated cultivar admired for its glossy hooded leaves with creamy-white marbling. It produces upright stems topped with rippled heart-shaped blades patterned in unpredictable green and ivory sectors, and the contrast deepens and shifts as the plant matures.

This rare compact selection holds the interest of serious enthusiasts through its marbled and sectoral patches, which differ from leaf to leaf. Native to the humid understoreys of Laos, Vietnam and southern China, the cultivar keeps the compact clumping growth of the species, reaching 60-100cm tall indoors with a symmetrical form, while the glossy, slightly rippled blades and firm sturdy structure give it presence in a tropical interior.

Suited to dedicated Alocasia collectors looking for sculptural form with variegation that changes over time, this Mint cultivar does best in warm humid conditions (18-27°C) with bright filtered light, producing clusters from a short rhizome. The unpredictable mint-green and creamy-white variegation means this rare collector's houseplant reads differently from month to month in a curated tropical display.
